Our Story

Olean has a beat. It pulses from the restaurants and bars, parks and cars, churches and schools. It was that way when our parents’ parents got together and celebrated, and it’s that way now. Beat City Music is excited to be part of keeping our city’s vital musical legacy alive and rockin’.

Our mission is to spread the joy of music.

At Beat City Music, we’re more than just a music store and a resource for musicians of all ages. Yes, we offer a large selection of popular instruments and accessories, from guitars and ukuleles to strings and sticks. But, we also provide a place for musicians and fans of music to congregate, experience and share their love of music.

Located in the heart of Olean on North Union Street, we sell stuff, fix stuff, rent stuff, and, chances are, we can even teach you how to use stuff (or at least point you in the right direction). We also offer and host workshops, open mic performances, group lessons, and other musical events.

Beat City Music is a full-service independent music store owned and operated by local musicians who firmly believe that music is an essential part of a full life.

Connie

Connie is a lover of all music. Beginning with a flute in elementary school, Connie also plays bass and mandolin. In addition to performing and purveying all things musical at Beat City, Connie is also very involved in the local music scene.

Dylan

Dylan is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. If it can make music, it’s likey he can play it. In addition to performing regularly in and around Olean, Dylan writes and teaches music and has a degree in studio recording.
